The Royal and ancient game is another great pull for visitors to this part of  Spain and with twelve courses, including some of Europe's most famous, it is an area that goes about it's golfing business to a phenomenal degree of success.     

La Manga, which lies to the south of Mar Menor, is certainly one of the world's great golfing areas with three magnificent courses that are open all year.                                                                                                                                             Robert Putman originally designed the South Course which was modified in 1992 by Arnold Palmer. A classic, long championship course that is located in the centre of the valley, it has been the venue for many major professional tournaments.

The North Course has recently been refurbished to enhance the already superb championship course that requires accuracy rather than length of the tee. The greens have been rebuilt to USGA standards to complete with the finest courses in the world, the two tiered challenging fifth green being a typical example.
